Do I need special shoes?
Yes! Girls/women will need ghillies and boys/men will need reel shoes. You are always welcome to purchase your own shoes, but we do have a used shoe program where if we have used shoes in your size, they start at $30. If we have to order shoes for you, new ghillies and reel shoes generally start at around $65. We give you $10 to trade them back in when your dancer grows out of them.

What do I wear to class?
Dancers should wear something comfortable, that they can move in, and that doesn't hide their feet or ankles. No jeans. Most dancers wear shorts or leggings and a t-shirt. Littles sometimes get more creative! We've seen everything from princess dresses to pajamas. It's all pretty much ok as long as they can dance in it! Hair must be up and out of the dancer's face.

Will I be in classes with people my same age?
Maybe, maybe not! At Rince na Gréine, classes are set up by age ranges, but filled by proficiency. The good thing about that is you can end up making really good friends of ALL ages! Case in point, Lauren and Marge, 3 years apart. Marge started dancing years later than Lauren, so they were always at the same level even though Marge is three years older. Lasting friendship, to say the very least!

Are there trial classes? What about makeup classes?
We don’t do free trial classes. We want dancers to really get the full experience, and that can often take more than one class. However, there are no contracts. Tuition is month-to-month, and if you decide it’s not for you, you only have to tell us before the first of the month and you won’t be charged again. As for makeup classes, with our very small size in Duluth, unfortunately there simply aren’t any other classes to attend for a makeup!

I have to miss a class – who do I contact?
It’s always best to contact us by email: RincenaGreineDuluth@gmail.com
-
How will I know if class is cancelled (snow day, etc.)?
Email is our main method of communication, but for something like that, we will also post on social media (so make sure you're following us)!
-
Where do parents wait during class?
There are chairs in the hallway outside the studio, and a raised viewing area. We do not have parents remain in the room with their dancers.
